'Moments, Models, and Mental Health' symposium by ReMAC x CNP Nijmegem
Last week, the 'Moments, Models, and Mental Health' symposium brought together researchers from the REMAC and Computational NeuroPsychiatry (CNP) networks to explore how momentary data collection methods and computational models can come together to improve our experimental designs and understanding of mental health and its fluctuations in everyday life.
In their keynote lectures, Prof. Michal Browning (Oxford) made the compelling case that computational models can be deployed to better understand treatment response in psychiatric disorders, and dr. Olivia Kirtley (Leuven) discussed the potential of experience sampling methods, but also the practical considerations and ethical complexities when studying individuals with suicidal ideation.
Moreover, we got to be inspired by pitches from early career researchers Dr. Jessica Schaaf, Dr. Bertalan Polner, Iliana Liakea and Rares Radulescu. The event was a great success, thanks to the organisational efforts of Anika Poppe, together with the ReMAC group and computational neuropsychiatry Nijmegen. Thanks for funding for cross-faculty collaborations to Radboud Young Academy.
